Team-based Rope Rescue (TBRR)
TBRR – By the end of this first Segment the participant will have a clear understanding of the complexity of the skills that are required to safely, and successfully complete technical rope rescues.
In addition, the participant will complete the following:
Complete basic knot craft, including;
the Figure 8 on a Bight,
the Directional 8, the Bowline,
the Double Long-tail Bowline,
the Inner-locking Bowline,
the Butterfly,
the Clove Hitch,
the Prusik Hitch
the Becket Bend (Sheet Bend),
the Double Overhand Bend (Double Fisherman’s Bend),
the Single Overhand Bend (Water Knot) using webbing,
the Single Overhand Bend on a Bight (the Frost Knot) using webbing.
Tensionless Hitch
Anchor rigging concepts including;
single point anchors,
multipoint anchors,
W3P2,
load sharing/self-equalizing versus multipoint “fixed”,
back-tie techniques,
Mainline concepts, including;
Brake rack operations
Hot changeovers
Pulley systems, including simple/compound/complex MAs,
Belay Line concepts, including;
True belays versus conditional
belays,
Self belays versus conditional self
belays,
Tandem prusik belays
The 540
Complete a steep angle litter evacuation.
Complete a high angle litter evacuation.
Complete a team-based mid-wall pick-off.
